Ocean Connector: Diving into Big Data with DeepSense

  • COVE 27 Parker Street Dartmouth, NS, B2Y 4T5 Canada (map)

New artificial intelligence (AI) models are published daily and the hardware required to use AI is increasingly becoming more accessible and usable, yet most companies and start-ups have not had the opportunity to leverage more advanced analytics to optimize their operations or product and service offering. Join DeepSense to learn about how ocean-related companies can build and leverage their proprietary data to best position for competition. You will learn about some of the barriers to AI exploration and adoption and how DeepSense may be able to help you identify and create use cases for your own business. DeepSense was created to bring together companies in the ocean space and data and ocean scientists to develop commercially-useful predictive models, analytical prototypes, and applications for use in the blue economy.

Executive Director of DeepSense, Jennifer LaPlante, has a strong background in innovation and analytics, including creating the first corporate innovation outpost at Volta labs. With a goal of encouraging more diversity in data science, she co-organizes the Halifax chapter of Women in Machine Learning.

Ocean Connectors are sponsored by Cox & Palmer and Killam Apartment REIT.
