Event Description: Volta’s Women Taking over the World with Tech (WTWT) Pitch Competition is for female founders and entrepreneurs within Volta’s network and the Atlantic Canadian tech community. Unlike Volta’s quarterly Pitch Competitions, this competition will only be open to female founders and entrepreneurs. You do not have to be a regular attendee of WTWT Events to pitch!
The event is meant to provide an opportunity for women within the tech industry to practice a business pitch and get feedback from peers and industry professionals within an encouraging setting. The competition will consist of a judging panel comprised of entrepreneurs, potential investors and community leaders. Judging will be based both on the pitch, and the business idea and will also focus on presentation quality and content.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three participants! First Place will receive a $500 Visa Gift Card, Second Place will receive $250 and third will receive $100. The top three will also be awarded a one-year membership to The Centre for Women in Business (valued at $125)!
What is WTWT? The Women Taking over the World with Tech (WTWT) program supports Atlantic Canadian female founders and leaders in the technology sector. This program will feature events, workshops, in-depth fireside chats and socials. We want to give you a collaborative community to discuss the issues women face in the tech industry and support you through our network with resources available through our program.
Who can attend WTWT events? If you are a founder, have a managing role in a startup or are working in a role supported by the tech sector, we want to connect you with other women in the industry!
